International Grain Future Freight ( May.6 to 9)

In Week 19, 2025 (May 6 to May 9), due to schedule adjustments for the May Day holiday, the International Grain Future Freight (IGF) was released four times. It reported the future freight rate of Panamax from South America to Tianjin (soybeans) from October to December 2025, and the trend is shown as follows:

Rainfall across the Midwest soybean production region in the United States has improved soil moisture conditions, helping to accelerate soybean planting. According to the data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), 30% of soybeans for the 2024/25 season have been planted, up from 24% at the same time last year. The five-year average is 23%.

In terms of the transportation market, the future freight rate stood at $47.75/ton on May 6 (Tue.). From May 7 to 9 (Wed. to Fri.), the rate remained stable and ultimately closed at $47.75/ton.
