In Week 22, 2025 (May 26 to May 30), the International Grain Future Freight (IGF) reported the future freight rate of Panamax from South America to Tianjin (soybeans) from from October to December 2025, and the trend is shown as follows:
In U.S. Midwest Soybean Production Region, increased rainfall has improved soil moisture conditions, supporting the early growth of soybeans. According to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as of the current 2024/25 season, soybean planting progress has reached 76%, ahead of the five-year average of 68%. Emergence stands at 50%, also above the five-year average of 40%.
In terms of the transportation market, the future freight rates remained steady throughout the week of May 26 to 30 (Mon. to Fri.), closing at $47.75/ton, unchanged from May 23 (the last release day of Week 21).
