In Week 31, 2025 (July 28-July 31), the International Grain Future Freight (IGF) forward freight rate trend for Panamax from Gulf America to Tianjin (soybeans) for the period of October to December 2025 is shown as follows:
Soil moisture conditions across the U.S. Midwest soybean-growing regions remain favorable, with crop quality ratings exceeding those of the same period last year. According to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the current good-to-excellent rating for soybeans stands at 70%, compared to 68% last year. Pod-setting has reached 41%, just below last year’s 42% and the five-year average of 42%. The blooming rate stands at 76%, in line with the five-year average and slightly above last year’s 75%.
In the transportation market, forward freight rates remained steady from July 28 to 31 (Mon. to Thur.), closing at USD 50.25 per ton, unchanged from July 25 (the last release day of Week 30).
